Her mom encouraged her to start her own healthy snack line and in 2017, Charlton launched Ohh! Foods, producing vegan, gluten-free and allergen-friendly edible cookie doughs and snack bites. Her products can now be found in more than 1,000 stores across Canada, including Walmart, Bed Bath & Beyond and Whole Foods. She plans to launch Ohh! Foods in the U.S. in 2022.
Jason and Anastasia
Reusables Founder
Jason Hawkins and Anastasia Kiku founded Reusables in 2020 to replace the single-use cups and takeout containers used by restaurants and cafes with stainless steel ones. Consumers are asked to return containers to participating locations within 14 days or pay a replacement fee. They charge monthly fees starting at $75 a month for individual cafes and up to $14,800 for corporate clients. They serve about 70 Vancouver restaurants and cafes and are expanding to Seattle. Food service giants Sodexo and Compass Group will pilot Reusables next year at university and corporate campuses in Vancouver and the San Francisco Bay area
Madison Guy
GrantMe, Founder
To pay her way through the University of British Columbia where she captained the women’s soccer team, Guy went through an exhausting process of finding and applying for grants and scholarships. In 2018 she launched GrantMe to help other students find funding. She has connected students with a total of $3 million in scholarships to date. GrantMe’s work is only applicable to colleges in Canada now, but Guy is hoping to expand to the U.S. in the next 18 months. She expects $2.3 million in revenue in 2020.
